LiquiFly Rockets work on the same principles as other water rockets, with the energy coming from water and air. The action of pumping air into the bottle filled with water creates high pressure, forcing the water through the restricted opening at high velocity.
The Liquifly rocket range uses various physics experiments to propel rockets. The rocket uses water as its reaction mass, The water is forced out by the compressed air.
Fizz rockets use both a double displacement reaction and a decomposition reaction with Bicarb Soda and Vinegar. When vinegar and baking soda are first mixed together, hydrogen ions in the vinegar react with the sodium and bicarbonate ions in the baking soda. The result of this initial reaction is two new chemicals: carbonic acid and sodium acetate. The carbonic acid formed as a result of the first reaction immediately begins to decompose into water and carbon dioxide gas. The newly created CO2 then generates pressure inside the rocket until its pressure exceeds capacity.
