You will learn how to build a motorised air suction system which will enable your Geckobot to walk up and down windows, whiteboards and other smooth surfaces. The motorised gear system produces a rotating motion allowing the Geckobot’s legs to mimic the way a real gecko walks – two feet will always be touching the wall while the other two feet are in the air marching forward. The gear system drives an air pump that creates a vacuum for the two feet clinging to the wall, and pushes air out of the two feet in the air.
There are also six other models that you can build, and the kit will take you through a variety of experiments that you can conduct to learn all about air pressure and mechanical physics. Asides from the Geckobot, you can build an industrial arm robot, suction gun, smartphone holder, suction tow truck, ellipsograph and a crawling inch worm. The kit comes with a 24 page manual with step-by-step instructions on how to build each model, along with scientific information and explanations.
