Sand that repels water and never gets wet? Just when you thought sand couldn’t get any more interesting. Hydrophobic sand was originally designed to trap ocean oil spills, and can now be yours to take home!
When sand gets wet it gets all clumpy, holds its shape and can even be crafted into sandcastles.
Hydrophobic sand changes everything you thought you knew about sand. As you pour the contents into a glass of water watch as the sand repels the water. You can even move the sand around as much as you want and it still won’t get wet. When you are finished, simply scoop the still dry sand out and put back in the container.
