Covid-19 - Giant Microbe

Did you know the name Corona is for the disease’s crown-like spikes? Covid-19 spreads from person-to-person through respiratory droplets carried in coughs or sneezes.  Coronaviruses are zoonotic, meaning they jump from animals to humans. SARS was transmitted by civets, MERS by camels, and Covid-19 perhaps by pangolins sold in wildlife food markets. With contagious microbes, you are often at the mercy of nature and the interconnectedness of our world.

Giant Microbes are excellent teaching aids as they assist students to develop an understanding of biology while taking a fun, hands on approach. No dissection required here!
