Ada and the Number-Crunching Machine is the amazing story of a little girl who didn't get a chance to go to school but grew up to create the world's first computer program.
Ada Lovelace was born in 1815, and was a mathematician and computer engineer. Ada was born in a time period where girls were not sent to school, but she was lucky, because her mother believed that little girls should have the same opportunities as little boys, and made sure lots of smart people came to teach Ada at home.
Ada played a pivotal part in the creation of the Analytical Engine, which today we call a computer! Ada used her love of words and numbers to write a special code that told the machine what to do, she was the world's first computer programmer. Ada changed our world; she was clever, inventive and looked at problems from all angles.
