Both an art project and a science experiment, the Sunprint Kit has been inspiring and educating since 1975.
The blue molecules embedded in the Sunprint paper are sensitive to ultra-violet light, so sunlight will cause the paper to fade from blue to white! Simply arrange objects on top of the paper and put it out in the sunlight until the paper turns almost white, then quickly rinse the Sunprint paper in water and dry to expose your beautiful Sunprint! As the original blue compound is soluble, water washes it away, leaving white paper where you placed the objects. Additionally, the paper that was exposed to the sun turns deep blue in the water as an oxidation reaction occurs. Combining art and science, the Sunprint possibilities are endless. This kit is great for hands-on learning and is a wonderful activity for both the classroom and at home.
