Not only is this a beautiful glass ornament, it also displays a fundamental scientific law. In 1787 Jacques Charles discovered that a gas volume is proportional to its absolute temperature, or in other words, as the temperature increases, the volume will increase. This became known as Charles’ Law, and it explains to us how this amazing Hand Boiler works. The gas molecules in the container speed up as the temperature increases, and this in turn increases the pressure in one chamber and shoots the liquid into the next, thus creating a stunning liquid display!

The Hand Boiler is available in red, blue, green, and purple, and each colour option has a different glass tube shape to its different coloured counterparts.

This product makes a beautiful simple display of a complex scientific principle or an interesting gift for the science minded, artistic or hard to buy for person.
