This beautifully hand blown glass teardrop vessel contains a solution including distilled water, ethanol, potassium nitrate, ammonium chloride and camphor. The delicate glass form is held in place by a sculptural black stand.
Simply place the Storm Glass in an area of your home that is not subject to sudden temperature changes and observe the constantly changing crystal formations. How the storm glass really works is a mystery, but some explanations include changes in temperature and the effects of electricity across the glass. Developed by Admiral Fitzroy in the early 1800s, the Fitzroy Storm Glass was used by sailors to forecast good weather and foreboding conditions at sea.
Each storm glass is made from hand blown glass and is not intended as a toy. Please handle with care and keep out of reach of children.
